The employees here are great, especially considering that this is just a non profit store. You have to keep an open mind when coming though since the store doesn't really have any control over what they receive for the most part (which consists almost entirely of donations from individuals and from leftover inventory from other stores), but you can definitely get some amazing deals here and find some really unique items. While some of the new furniture might seem pricy, you have to consider that Habitat's prices are still significantly lower than retail price (for example, $700 isn't a small number, but compared to $2000 for a leather recliner, $700 is an amazing deal) and that the money does go to a good cause. And as of recently, the store sells new mattresses for a huge discount.. Plus, every once in a while they will have an unannounced sale day, where you can get even more AMAZING deals.. Oh, and they have a cool competition where if you buy an item from the store and refurbish or redo it or whatever in some way and submit before and after pictures, you can potentially win a prize (see official rules and details on Facebook page or in store). Having been both a volunteer and a customer at the store, I really can say that it's a great place.
Yesterday I was there and found some items, but when I checked the prices I saw the items had dollar store price tags still on them and they wanted more than a dollar for the items. I went to the dollar store & purchased the same items for less than I would have had I bought them at the Restore.
Also, another worker recklessly pushed the door to an employee only area , almost hitting a nearby customer. And, finally, the store is a mess and lot of their items are overpriced.
When the manager finally came up to assist, he too acted like it was a big mystery. Would not make eye contact. Finally found enough info to begrudgingly give us the advertised-right-there-in-their-store discount.
Great experience from when I entered the store with the sweet ladies at the front counter to all who are involved inside and outside. They were very helpful and helped me load my furniture I bought and strap it down in my husbands truck for me. Thank you all for the great service and going that extra mile. Merry Christmas.
This place used to be great and I was in there all the time, but the prices charged lately are really high. I was in there one day when they had a bunch of brand new furniture from Lazy Boy. The prices they wanted for the items was more than what I would have paid at the Lazy Boy store, since Lazy Boy was having a sale & I could get it cheaper I went to Lazy Boy.
Really hoping they get someone in there that can price accordingly so that I can start finding some great finds again.
They have a sign in the store for a 10% discount if you scan the. IRQ code. When we scanned it and showed the clerk, she acted as if we were making it up, trying to scam them or something. Said she'd never heard of it. The sign right there in the store she claims to have worked at for 3 or 4 years.
Very nice place to find things for the home and everybody is so kind.
