Absolutely the worst place you could imagine! The nurses are unresponsive and uncaring. I would give zero stars if that was an option.
My father was placed there after leaving Christiana. After 4 weeks there he was sent to rehab. The case manager asked where we wanted him to go. I said Cadia in Pike Creek. Case manager said that they don't accept tracheotomy patients that have not had traech in for at least 6 months. Also said no beds were available. So we asked for Cadia in Middletown. Upon arrival Cadia manager asked for the respiratory Specialists from Pike Creek to come and examine my father. Muhammad was the specialist. He said Dad's cap on a strike was all plugged up. Said he had a bed waiting at Pike Creek but that the manager said we wanted him at Middletown. Manager At cadia also said that he should not have been discharged from select in the condition he was in. They asked if they could transfer him to Cadia in Pike Creek.
My mother was subject to negligence at Select Specialty Hospital in Dec. 2008. Frequently, I found her almost falling out of her recliner asking for help & being ignored. She was unable to adjust herself due to the massive, paralyzing stroke she had suffered. One day, she was dropped on the concrete floor, causing many bruises and from then on, she was extremely frightened to be moved from the bed to her chair. Although outside her door a sign said that 2 people were required to move her, only 1 CNA was moving her. I am not exaggerating when I say this place was a living hell for her.
