I will never go here again. I do not recommend it. My bill stated that they charged me $135 just for being a "new patient." [FYI I am not a new patient, I went in for pee test, nothing more nothing less, to satisfy a documentation requirement for an insurance application.] This $135 charge is highway robbery.
Not only is the customer service terrible (and fraudulent) but they took their sweet time with an 11 am appointment. I was there until 12:15pm and the last 15 min was just waiting to pay the bill. Then once I paid and expressed my dissatisfaction with the pricing, the woman in the billing department laughed at me for being upset with the clearly false prices Planned Parenthood staff communicated to me.
I really don't care for some of the ladies I spoke to over the phone or at the front desk here- but the nurse, doctor, and PA that helped me were great. They answered all of my questions and were very helpful.
I called to get a price for a pregnancy test without insurance. They told me on the phone it would be charged on a sliding scale between $30-80. I made the appointment. When I got there they told me now it was going to be $126. Then once I checked out it ended up being $149.
Don't go here. They never have t heir s**t together and it's not with waiting in the waiting room for hours. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. And their hours are all lies too. I have been to many PPs and unfortunately this one has been very disappointing.
Edit: On a side note, I have discovered that they are very kind, helpful and timely at the Newark branch.
I would like to warn everyone that a surgical gyn doctor, possibly hispanic/italian, treated me brutally during an abortion. When the nurse left the room, he suddenly and silently punched me in the abdomen but stopped as she returned. He then wordlessly proceeded with the operation. This happened Jan 2012 and only now have I been able to deal with this traumatic experience. Please be careful I don't wish anyone to have a similar experience.
Of all the Planned Parenthood locations I've been to I have never been treated so disrespectfully and with so little care. The staff lost both my ID and health insurance card the receptionist gave no interest in finding my belongings and even told me that she does not lose anything and that I lost it myself, I don't know how I could've lost my information when I never left the building. This place is horrible, unfortunately this being the only Planned Parenthood within a hour radius a lot of women don't have much choice when it comes to receiving proper care.
