Stepping into this place you easily forget what year it is. Old-school diner feel, with friendly staff, and quick service. I tried two hotdogs with their special sauce, and I shared some fries with my husband. The dogs were smothered in their special sauce, and were super filling. I tasted my husband's black and white milkshake, and it was definitely an authentic shake. You could really taste the malt!
This always a great place to eat. Service is fast and friendly and I love their hotdogs with the secret sauce. Try for yourself.
Excellent cheesesteak sub; one of the thickest I recollect having (thick sub bun, but TONS of meat and other great fillings). Extremely tasty.
I have been going here for more than 5 years. Good food nice people. I highly recommend this place for the family.

Was not the cheapest burger/dog joint we have ever been to, but it was worth the price. Will go back there next time we come to the racetrack. Oh yes... "Deerhead"... might get its name from the three or four mounted deer heads on the walls, watching you eat. Wonder if they serve venison too! Not a problem for us.
Sometime between five and ten minutes later (we were talking about racing and lost track of time), the order was delivered and it was excellent.
Juicy burger, LOADED... fresh lettuce and tomatoes too. thick, great tasting burger with fresh bun.
Sometime between three and five minutes later, a guy who looked like he was probably the cook came from behind the line and made his way to our table. Since we had plenty of time to read the menu, we gave him our full order: sodas, a cheeseburger loaded with everything, a cheesesteak sub loaded with everything but hot peppers, and fries.
No glitz or glamour here. The restaurant is located on a corner of a strip-mall style facility. We entered the front door and were not greeted by anyone, so we decided to pick a both and sit down.
The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served piping hot.
We were in town to do a little go kart racing at Mid-Atlantic, and wanted to try lunch at a different, off-the-beaten-path location. i did a Google search on "where locals eat", looking for a burger & sub style place, and Deerhead Hot Dogs came up in that search. The ratings and comments were good, so we gave it a shot.
