I take my young daughter here all the time. Nice having an eco-center so close to the city. The paths by the water and the views are beautiful. The center there is a great place to get a high overview of both the city and the marshland by the river.
An absolute beautiful diamond in the rough of Wilmington. This is a great place to go and be connected to nature and the wildlife that still exists even within the city limits. Even though it's right next to the Blue Rocks stadium and close to the interstate, it's peaceful, tranquil, and offers beautiful scenery along the river and wetlands. From the bridge leading over the train tracks, you get a great view of downtown Wilmington too. The actual refuge walking path is a curvy boardwalk through a portion of the wetlands with benches and even little "docks" that jut out even further into the water to offer an up close opportunity to see the wildlife.
I ride, run and walk here at least once a week. It is amazing to walk around every time of year. I see something new all the time. Great place to bring the family to get some fresh air and experience some spectacular views.
