Enjoy this park all year long. Restrooms closed after summer season. Dog friendly has picnic are a, playground,and walking as well as running trails. Also, if your a veteran, a reduced entrance fee can be bought at the main office. Quite a savings.Park closes at dusk and opens around DAWN. Also, a fishing pond available. Must go to for most park lovers.,
Do not give a dime to this place. I got off work and raced to watch my son race at the park. I did not have the $4. The man at the gate just starred. Not only was he not going to help me but he explained how he was going to call the park police if I park inside the park and wait for my son who is in his park racing. He and like others at the park could care less. Have the bus stop on the busy road that parrellels I95 because that is much safer. Sure I could have walked out at the end of shift but my last OR patient needed things like a trip to the emergency room, IV fluid, EKG and other things that keep sick people alive. I wish I could choose the people I serve and save the lives of; he and these park employees would not one of them!! Over $4.. $4 isn't even worth bad PR!! What a moron!
One of the many wonderful Delaware State Parks! Great for walks, runs, family fun and activities, fishing, exercise, and disc golf. The staff is so polite and very helpful. I highly recommend this park to anyone trying to have a great time outdoors!
For parks in Delaware, this is pretty unique and has a great, open feel to it. There are wooded areas but it's mostly just thin treeline that separates the track/pond from the other areas of the park. A couple of trails and walking paths that are short distances. Great amphitheater with a huge lawn. Some of the original estate buildings are still standing which I believe they do yours through. Tons of space for picnics and cookouts.
One of my absolute favorite parks in Delaware. Family friendly. Clean. Nice for picnics including grilling in the park. Always has tons of events especially in the summer. Even has a disc golf course to enjoy!
